Whimsical

I just finished this mixed media piece using Gelatos. I also stamped on the Gelatos and finished with Watercolor markers. This was my first attempt using Gelatos and I found them very easy to work with. A little bit goes a long way.

Engraved Etching

here is an engraved etching that we were challenged to make into a mixed media piece. The background is a blend of gelatos inks. I enhanced the image with water color inks . I used distress inks on the doilies and paper. I added a shabby chic flower that I made as well as a feather butterfly that I also made. These are fun to do. If anyone has tried to do this, I would love to know more about your experience.

New Tea Cards

For those who know me, know that I am a confirmed tea granny. Now that fall is here and many of us are canning, harvesting or getting our gardens ready for winter, I got to thinking of the abundance of flowers in my garden and thought to make these cards called My Cup Runneth Over.

Friendship Pages

This is a page I made for the September theme " I Love The Movies"
This is one of the first movies that made an impact on me. My Father served in Malaysia and fought the Burmese during World war 11. I went to Thailand 5 years ago and stayed at a resort on the River Kwai. While I was there i took the train from Thailand to Burma. I also visited the museum and walked the trail where so many prisoners worked and died. While walking, I listened to a tape recording of tales told by the survivors. I think I have watched this movie at least 5 times over the years. This is why I chose this movie for this theme.

Serviette Card Tutorial

This card was made using a serviette.

Step One. Peel away all the back layers of the serviette.

Step Two. Scrunch the serviette piece with the image into a ball and ten smooth out, but not too much

Step Three.
Get the card size that you want and adhere glue to the side where you will be placing the serviette. I like to use the roll on glue, I used Scotch Crafty Stick. If using white glue , do so sparingly as it tends to wet the serviette to much and tends to tear.

Step Five.
Now place your serviette on your card making sure you have the image centered. Now rub the top of the serviette onto the card. Do this gently. You want to have wrinkles in your serviette, so don't fret it.

Voila, you are done.

Birthday Gift

My grand daughter's 20th birthday was a few days ago. I made her this necklace, which she was thrilled with. This is a wire wrapping technique. This is a technique that I am just learning to do. I was pleased with the way it turned out.
