Altered Wooden Spoon Tutorial

Today I wanted to share how I altered this wooden spoon.

Step One.
I used Gesso on the spoon and let it dry

Step Two.
I took used tea bags, let them dry, emptied the contents and then opened up the bag. I used a word stamp and Archival black ink and stamped on the bags.

Step Three.
I then applied the stamped bags to my spoon using Gloss Gel Medium or Modge Podge or any medium that will give you the desired result.

 Step Four.
Now I applied my embellishments using a glue gun. I first applied my string of beads. Then a attached a small coffee spoon to the top of the spoon. Then I applied three die cuts and a paper flower made for the packets of teas that my favorite tea comes in. I used three different flower punches to make my flower and one leaf punch.
  Here is my finished spoon.

Here is am altered thread spool that I made for a swap . This will be going to Australia.

I have been asked to alter a pint brush. This was my first attempt, but I have a zillion ideas for more.

Today I made this altered Mouse trap for a swap at My Fun Crafts

I am currently making Altered thread spools. These are two I recently made.

I made this in a class at CropCircles. It was so much fun that I wanted to share . This was made on canvas using a Graphics 45 image. sculpting paste, silk paints, embossing powder, drywall tape, lace and embellishments.
